The Memory Foam Mattress Topper is designed to be used on top of the existing bed mattress.
This overlay mattress has a 3cm base of high resilient polyurethane foam fused with a 3cm topping of temperature sensitive memory foam, for increased base support and added softness on the sleeping surface.
When areas of the body have been over stressed by prolonged pressure we automatically move position and redistribute weight.
If a body area becomes warm, the cells require more oxygen. If the area is too cold, the cells will automatically produce less energy. In both cases the cells are prone to damage (bedsores - pressure sores).
The areas of the body most likely to be affected are those bony prominences close to the surface - i.e. shoulder blades, elbows, sacrum, hips (pelvis) and heels.
Even if not 'at risk', general fatigue and degeneration - particularly in the spinal region - causes us to reposition throughout our sleep in order to relieve aches and pains.
Visco Elastic Memory Foam is an advanced material that has the properties of working with the heat and weight of ones' body. And conforming to the body contours.
The Back Care Memory Foam Mattress Topper is available with standard fleece velour cover.
Or alternatively, a vapour permeable wipe-down cover. This protects the foam from any accidental spillages or when user circumstances require a water repellent cover.
