Transport/ Transit Wheelchairs are a lightweight and portable option in wheelchair use. They are designed to be used with assistance from either your companion or carer.
Transport wheelchairs are lighter and easier to fold and store away. This makes it the ideal choice when you want to move only short distances, or when you want to go on outings, which require your use of a car, airplane or other means of transportation.
They are easy on the back, easy to lift up and stack into your car boot, and fold very compactly. Taking up very little space in your car.
Compared to all the other types of wheelchairs, they are usually the least expensive option. Transport/ Transit Wheelchairs are only intended for short term use though.
